The son of Mavis Rivers, “Polynesia’s First Lady of Song,” and a proud Pacific Islander honored with the Samoan chiefly title of La’auli, Matt Catingub has spent a lifetime connecting cultures through music. A celebrated saxophonist, pianist, vocalist, award-winning composer, and former HSO Pops Conductor, he returns to the Hawaiʻi Symphony Orchestra for a heartfelt celebration of his roots, his influences, and the legendary sounds that shaped his career.
