Millennium III Hybrid Grand Piano Keyboard Action
The NV10S utilizes Kawai’s exclusive grand piano hybrid action, featuring innovative carbon fiber components that are stronger, faster and lighter than conventional wooden parts. Elongated key sticks provide greater control for the pianist and extruded action rails assure more stability.
Distinctively adapted in the NV10S is the Millennium III Hybrid grand piano action. Nearly identical to Kawai’s famously responsive grand piano actions, the traditional felt hammers are replaced with ABS equivalents that are individually weighted and balanced from bass to treble. High precision optical sensors take the place of metal strings, which precisely read the subtle movements of each hammer as the corresponding keys are played.
Shigeru Kawai SK-EX Concert Grand Piano Sound
To faithfully reproduce the stunning sound of a Shigeru grand piano digitally, Kawai developed SK-EX Rendering –a meticulously robust piano sound engine that combines multi-channel, 88-key sampling with the latest modeling technology.
Multichannel sampling captures the sound from different points of the Shigeru Kawai concert grand piano, allowing a broader range of tonal characteristics to be reproduced. This provides a more lively, authentic response to changes in dynamics.
This naturally expressive sound is further enriched by newly developed resonance algorithms which physically model the complex tonal interactions produced by strings, pedals and various other parts of an acoustic piano. These technological advances give players the impression that they’re sitting at a living, breathing instrument.
Large selection of Acoustic PIano Sounds and Instrument Voices
In addition to the latest SK-EX rendering piano sound engine, the Novus NV10S hybrid digital piano also incorporates Kawai’s highly regarded Harmonic Imaging XL technology.
This allows a diverse variety of acoustic piano sounds and a robust selection of additional instrument voices. The Kawai EX full concert grand has a full-bodied tone familiar to pianists the world over while the SK-5 chamber grand and K-600 upright piano allow pianists to enjoy contrasting tonal characteristics of various piano sizes and voicing configurations.
Full-color Touchscreen Display
The Novus NV10S features Kawai’s exclusive touch screen color display for ease of operation. Discreetly embedded in the left cheek block, this high resolution touch screen allows sounds and settings to be selected from a user interface with the swipe of a finger.
For those who wish to minimize any visual distraction, the display can turn off automatically to preserve the NV-10S’s acoustic piano-like appearance.
Premium Audio Hardware
Cutting edge technologies such as 1-bit processing, dual DAC signal conversion and Onkyo’s DIRDC filtering, the NV- 10S’s power amplifiers reproduce the Shigeru Kawai grand piano sound with spectacular clarity, richness and power.
The high performance Discrete SpectraModule TM headphone amplifier ensures the finest quality listening experience, even when playing in privacy.
